Senior Advisor
Scott Nelson served across America for almost six decades in key security – safety positions in both the public and the private sectors.
He is currently a Senior Advisor at KGintel and also the President of the Security & Risk Management Group, LLC. In addition, he is an Adjunct Professor at Webster University, Walker School of Business and Technology, LA Air Force Base, Space & Missile Systems Center and UCLA Extension and he is a UCSB Customer Experience Program Advisor. Mr. Nelson lectures widely, provides technical services to Hollywood, expert commentary to the media and is an active community criminal justice advocate. He was nominated for the prestigious Kemper Award for excellence in teaching.
As a Marine Corps Captain, Mr. Nelson served throughout the U.S., in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, South America and in Vietnam. He was awarded the Legion of Merit with Combat V, the Bronze Star with Combat V, the Purple Heart, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and the Presidential Unit Citation for combat infantry action in Vietnam.
As an FBI Special Agent, he served in challenging, critical assignments in many volatile, crime ridden cities for almost three decades. As Deputy Assistant Director, FBI Academy, the world’s premier learning and research center, he managed global police training, including the FBI National Academy and the Behavioral Science Unit. During his career, he received numerous commendations and awards from the FBI Director including the FBI Star.
As the VP of Security for both WB Studios, Burbank, CA and then the newly merged AOL/Time Warner, NYC, Mr. Nelson had global responsibility for people, property, information and systems. He was commended by senior management on numerous occasions, including for leadership following the chaotic, deadly 911 attacks in NYC.
He studied at the University of Oregon and Rutgers University earning a degree in Business Management from Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, Florida and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Long Island University, NY. He was selected for the Green Key Leadership Society and Who’s Who In American Colleges and Universities.
